Many significant supervillains have been officially confirmed for James Gunn's DC Universe. With the release of Supergirl, following the introduction of characters like Krem of the Yellow Hills and the anti-hero Lobo, bigger names and more dangerous threats are on the way. Notably, some villains that were overlooked in Zack Snyder's unfinished DCEU will also be part of this new universe.

The number of supervillains to be featured in the DC Universe is quite impressive. These characters will appear in various projects, from major blockbuster films to streaming series, and from live-action to animation. Some will stand out as cosmic threats, while others will engage in more street-level battles. However, all are quite intriguing, especially with the growing excitement surrounding upcoming DCU projects over the next few years.

One of the most interesting projects in James Gunn's DC Universe is the Clayface film, starring Tom Rhys Harries. According to the first details and the film's initial teaser trailer, Clayface will tell the story of Matt Hagen, a tragic actor who undergoes a horrific experimental transformation after being stabbed in the face. This film could pave the way for the introduction of DCU's Batman and Robin in the Brave and Bold film by focusing on one of Batman's most dangerous and tragic foes.

Additionally, Brainiac, one of the most requested villains in Superman films over the years, will make his big-screen live-action debut in the Man of Tomorrow film in 2027. The inclusion of Brainiac raises the stakes following Superman's first film. It has also been confirmed that Superman and Lex Luthor will likely team up against this Coluan supervillain. Brainiac is also connected to the destruction of Krypton; he had shrunk and bottled the lost city of Kandor.
