Slovak director Ivan Ostrochovský has announced plans for a US remake of the film "Only Beautiful Things to Look At." Set to premiere at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, this drama takes place in the 1980s and centers around a doctor (Aňa Geislerová) questioning the forced sterilization of Romani women in former Czechoslovakia. Ostrochovský emphasized that this issue is experienced worldwide and expressed his desire for audiences to better understand such tragic events.

Ostrochovský stated that his film aims not only to tell a story but also to shed light on a social issue. He reminds us that forced sterilization remains a debated topic in many countries and that such practices are considered human rights violations. With this remake, the director hopes to encourage viewers to rethink these painful events from the past.

Believing that the film carries an important message for both Slovak and international audiences, Ostrochovský expects the US version to create a similar impact. "Only Beautiful Things to Look At" aims to not only present a historical narrative but also draw attention to the dark chapters of human history. In this context, Ostrochovský's work once again highlights the impact of cinema on social change.
