After the finale of the series 'Hacks', Hannah Einbinder is preparing to take on a different project. She will star alongside the famous X-Files star Gillian Anderson in the satirical slasher film titled 'Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma'. A new promotional trailer has been released for this film, which received great interest at the Cannes Film Festival, giving horror fans a closer look at this intriguing project.

In the trailer, Einbinder's character Kris is introduced as a queer filmmaker tasked with reviving the classic Camp Miasma slasher series. To meet Anderson's character, the original final girl of the series, she must find this mysterious actress who continues to live at the old summer camp. However, the strangest thing Kris encounters is the connection between Anderson's character and Little Death, which she believes will literally emerge from the lake. This situation blurs the lines between fiction and reality.

The film received widespread acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival, earning a nine-minute standing ovation. It was shown as the opening film in the festival's 'Un Certain Regard' section and also won the Queer Palm award for best LGBTQ-themed film. Critics note that the film holds a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with Emma Kiely from Collider emphasizing that the film delivers all the sex and death promised by its title.

'Jane Schoenbrun's 'Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma' is the writer-director's third film. Her previous projects have drawn attention for blending modern culture and technology with themes of gender and sexuality. The film also features names like Arthur Conti, Sarah Sherman, Zach Cherry, and Eva Victor. 'Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma' will hit theaters on August 7. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
