DC is revitalizing the Green Lantern mythology, ensuring that the Corps stands out in the DC Universe. For over sixty years, Green Lanterns have been at the center of the Emotional Spectrum of the Universe, and during this time, many human heroes have contributed to the Corps. Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, and Jo Mullein are known as the most famous Green Lantern heroes protecting Sector 2814, and these names have held significant places throughout the first seven decades of Green Lanterns.

Almost every defining event in Green Lantern history begins, ends, or is largely influenced by the Green Lantern Corps. The Sinestro Corps War revolves around Sinestro's attempts to overthrow the Green Lanterns, while Blackest Night showcases the unification of every Corps against Nekron; however, Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns are the main heroes of the story. Brightest Day is directly linked to the revival of life led by Green Lantern, while War of the Green Lanterns explores the Corps' internal collapse and reconstruction. Even in stories focused on other groups, the Green Lanterns take on the task of maintaining balance.

In contrast to emotions like fear, anger, greed, hope, compassion, love, and death, willpower stands out as the driving force that determines how other emotions are expressed. Because Green Lanterns provide this balancing effect, they become the natural heroes of a mythology based on interactions between different power sources.

With a major promotion from DC K.O., Guy Gardner exceeded expectations as All-Sight, saving other Lanterns from the infinite pull of a black hole. Now, having succeeded in bringing together each representative of the Emotional Spectrum, Guy aims to protect all Emotional Entities from the Manhunters. Despite Jessica Cruz's objections, Guy Gardner's idea is quite promising; as the Entities could be the last line of defense for the Lanterns against the Manhunters. The main cover of Green Lantern Corps #18 heralds a team featuring Lanterns of every color.

By rewriting history, DC is transforming a renowned hero into a new member of the Blue Lantern Corps. Morgan Hampton's Green Lantern Corps #18 embraces a unified concept of the Emotional Spectrum, and these innovations signal the beginning of an exciting era for fans.
