In the third season of Euphoria, drug lord Laurie (Martha Kelly) returns to the scene, bringing new troubles for Rue (Zendaya). Following a five-year time jump, this ongoing conflict sees Laurie trying to convince her former "guest" to work off her debts, while Rue once again escapes to the home of rival drug lord Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Emmy-nominated Martha Kelly, who drew attention last season with her menacing and deadpan performance, returns with the same intensity this season.

Martha Kelly, who was quite impressed by her acting last season, mentions that this season she only watches her own scenes and has no information about most of the series. The female comedian, who began her career in Zach Galifianakis' Baskets, continues in Euphoria while being influenced by the high-quality cast and the intense focus of every frame. She struggled to bear the weight of last season's disturbing content, but it seems that this burden lightens a bit in the second episode of the third season.

Tension begins between Laurie and Alamo in the second episode. Laurie calls Alamo a "damn pig" over the phone, and in retaliation, Alamo sends a real pig (and a very messy one!) to Laurie's house. This absurd yet effective scene seems to be just the beginning of the war between the two drug lords.

Martha Kelly maintains discipline by avoiding discussions about the secrets she holds, much like in Marvel films. While she notes that there are many surprises in the first three episodes, she refrains from revealing specific details. Details like Rue driving over the wall in Mexico and swallowing a drug balloon with Faye have even surprised Kelly.

It’s clear that Laurie wants to win Rue back, but she seems uncertain about how to do it. The events at Alamo's house lead to Rue getting caught between various drug lords. Martha Kelly states that she feels more comfortable with her character and has found more opportunities to play with the role of Laurie as the season progresses.
