Death Becomes Her will bid farewell to its nearly 20-month Broadway journey on June 28. The musical, adapted from the 1992 film, premiered at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on November 21, 2024, and began previews on October 23. Initially, the show saw high attendance and revenue, earning over 1.2 million dollars a week. However, starting in January, there was a decline in audience numbers and revenue. As of the week ending May 10, the musical's earnings barely exceeded 760 thousand dollars.

The music direction and choreography were handled by Christopher Gattelli, with the book written by Marco Pennette. The original music was prepared by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey. The lead characters Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp were portrayed by Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard, both of whom were nominated for a Tony Award for their performances. Hilty gave her final performance on January 11. The current cast includes Simard, Betsy Wolfe (Madeline Ashton), Christopher Sieber, Michelle Williams, Taurean Everett, and Josh Lamon.

The musical attracted attention with a maximum of 10 Tony nominations for the 2024-2025 season but managed to win only one award for Best Costume Design. Lowe Cunningham, Creative and Strategy Head of Universal Theatrical Group, stated, "It was a great joy to bring Death Becomes Her to Broadway. We are proud of every artist, musician, and crew member who brought this show to life."

Death Becomes Her will embark on a multi-year North American tour starting in September at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, OH. This tour will provide a new opportunity for the musical to continue its life.
