Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 7 Presents Matt Murdock's Greatest Challenge

While Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again has received widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike, the successful MCU series is now rapidly heading toward a dramatic finale. A consolation for fans is that the beloved Netflix series will return with a Season 3 (which is already being filmed in New York) and there is at least a year-long wait ahead. In the continuation of the second season, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reunites with friends and foes, with familiar faces like Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), James Wesley (Toby Leonard Moore), and the legendary private detective Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) returning to the screen.
Although the latest episode showcased Daredevil's reunion with his Defenders teammate, not everything is festive. Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) has become completely unpredictable and insane since the death of his wife Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer). While the decrease in support from Fisk's allies is usually good news for heroes, this time it only adds more fuel to Fisk's inner conflict. However, after capturing Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Fisk may be pulling his long-time rival Matt into dangerous territory.
Although Karen has been on the run from Fisk's gangs for a long time, her luck was bound to run out. The still-grieving mayor pays her a visit after Karen is processed, leading to a tense conversation between these two polar opposite enemies. Karen is the one who killed Fisk's closest friend Wesley at the beginning of Daredevil Season 1. Their conversation (including a moment where Fisk absurdly shouts "HA!") strongly implies that Fisk killed Karen in a moment of desperation, which could have legal repercussions.
Jessica Jones will also have many questions for Mr. Charles (Matthew Lillard), the shadowy government agent associated with Fisk. Suspecting that Jessica has a history with Charles and that he is the one sending armed gangs to threaten her, Jessica decides to confront him, while the season's best original character reveals a wealth of information for fans. Charles reveals that Jessica's superpowers and limited flying ability have long been waning, which could explain her decision to quit detective work to raise her daughter Danielle (Annabelle Ivlev/Isabela Ivlev). Charles confirms what most fans have suspected by mentioning Luke Cage (Mike Colter) in the first official episode of Daredevil: Born Again. The indestructible hero of Harlem emerges as a character who disappeared after the third season of Netflix's Jessica Jones series.
Since Matt Murdock was legally declared missing after the finale of Born Again Season 1, he hasn't had much opportunity to take off his lawyer attire. However, by the end of the season, Matt, who will be defended in Karen's court, re-emerges in the public eye. After Matt is hailed as the hero who saved Fisk's life as a lawyer, his disappearance and Fisk's hesitation to reveal Matt's Daredevil identity will give Matt a significant advantage in the court of public opinion. Fisk may not have realized this when he sent the anxious lawyer's head to the park using AVTF, and Fisk's gangs are seriously injuring the hero by leaving him behind.
Fortunately, by the end of the episode, when Matt comes to church to pray for the first time in a long while, Jessica finds him.
