Crunchyroll Anime Awards: 'My Hero Academia' Named Anime of the Year

At the 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards held in Tokyo, Japan, 'My Hero Academia's final season won the award for Anime of the Year. Additionally, the globally popular 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle' drew attention by winning the Film of the Year award. It was announced that 73 million votes were cast worldwide for this year's awards, surpassing the previous record of 51 million from 2025, showcasing the global growth of the anime industry once again.

During the awards ceremony, the famous singer and avid anime fan The Weeknd presented the Anime of the Year award to the 'My Hero Academia' team. This popular series from Bones Film won a total of four awards, also achieving success in categories such as Best Ending Sequence and Best Supporting Character. This achievement highlights the significant place 'My Hero Academia' holds in the anime world.

Demon Slayer, the record-breaking film with a box office gross of $781 million from Sony/Crunchyroll, became the most awarded production by winning a total of seven awards. Five of these awards were given in performance categories for voice actors in different languages. In the main categories, 'Demon Slayer' won the Best Music award and the prestigious Film of the Year award.

Other notable attendees at the awards ceremony included RZA from Wu-Tang Clan, Black Panther actor Winston Duke, Grammy-nominated rapper Young Miko, K-pop artists BamBam and TEN, Japanese actors Asuka Saito, Kasumi Arimura, and Nanase Nishino, as well as Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna. The ceremony was hosted by Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu, with YouTube content creator Gigguk also participating in the event.
