Deadline
Chris Rock will lend his voice alongside Paul Rudd in the short film titled 'Goodnight, Lamby.' This live-action and animation hybrid film is produced by artist and director Dustin Yellin, with Darren Aronofsky and Justin A. Gonçalves on board. The film will premiere next week in the Cannes Classics section of the Cannes Film Festival and will feature an original song by Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Maggie Rogers.
The story follows three-year-old Zia's quest to find her lost stuffed toy, Lamby. As Zia searches for Lamby, who is lost in her father's surreal sculpture, she embarks on a journey of courage, curiosity, and self-discovery in a vast world filled with oceans, caves, and space. This tale showcases the imagination and desire for exploration of a small child.
In the film, Chris Rock will voice the character 'Copernipus,' while Paul Rudd will play the role of 'Papa.' The character of Zia will be portrayed by Zia Copernicus Yellin. Yellin, a Brooklyn-based artist, describes his works as "frozen cinema," and 'Goodnight, Lamby' will be his directorial debut.
The producers of the film include Dylan Golden, Ari Handel, and Nick St Pierre. The production companies are listed as Primordial Soup, Villavicencio Studio, and Google DeepMind. Chris Rock is represented by Untitled Entertainment, WME, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, while Maggie Rogers is represented by Mick Management, Sacks & Co., and CAA.
