While the most talked-about production among the new season news on Netflix remains Beef, there are a few other options to watch this week. After its first season starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, the show recently returned with a new story featuring Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny in the lead roles. However, it must be said that this long-awaited season has not met the expectations of many viewers. If you're looking for something different to watch, we have three great series to recommend from Netflix's lineup this week.

After nearly a decade away from screens following Girls, producer, director, and actress Lena Dunham returns in 2025 with a semi-autobiographical British romantic comedy series titled Too Much. In the series, starring Hacks' Megan Stalter as Jessica, a young woman moving from New York to London finds herself in the midst of contemporary love after a breakup, seeking a fresh start. Created alongside her husband Luis Felber, the series may not be perfect, but you’ll never be without a smile while watching its 10 episodes.

Too Much features talented actors like Will Sharpe, Emily Ratajkowski, Richard E. Grant, and Andrew Scott from Fleabag. Scott particularly stands out with his scene-stealing performance. At this point, did you know that the classic 1980s teen film Ferris Bueller's Day Off starred Matthew Broderick? The actor appeared in a new adaptation of this story in 2019, imagining it set in a modern, post-apocalyptic Mad Max-like world titled Daybreak.

Daybreak tells the story of Josh Wheeler, a high school outcast played by Colin Ford, who begins to live his life better after the apocalypse occurs. Adapted from Brian Ralph's graphic novel series of the same name, this darkly comedic dystopian series blends comedy, science fiction, and horror, providing a viewing experience that never becomes monotonous. Daybreak offers a very unique perspective on the zombie story and is one of the most underrated gems in the Netflix catalog. Don’t miss this series.

Another 2025 production from Mae Martin, the creator of Feel Good and Taskmaster champion, is Wayward. In the series, Toni Collette stars as Evelyn Wade, who serves as the head of Tall Pines Academy, a school aimed at reforming troubled youth. However, this strange institution holds far more mysteries than it appears at first glance, with many dark secrets waiting to be uncovered.

Wayward features talented actors such as Toni Collette, Mae Martin, Sarah Gadon, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sydney Topliffe, Patrick J. Adams, and Tattiawna Jones. While the series may be considered controversial by some, its cleverly crafted story and particularly Collette's electrifying lead performance leave no doubt about its quality. The series perfectly showcases Collette's ability to transition from maternal warmth to bone-chilling coldness in mere seconds.
