Beyoncé delighted her fans by releasing her first new song in two years on July 4th. The famous artist presented the track titled “Morning Dew (Donk),” which she co-wrote with Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, to listeners on Saturday morning. The song will be featured in a special edition of Beyoncé's second album B’Day, and this reissue will kick off a 60-day countdown to her birthday on September 4th.

B’Day was released on September 4, 2006, which is also Beyoncé's 25th birthday. The album became her second number one album, selling over 541,000 copies in its first week and includes hit songs like “Irreplaceable” and “Ring the Alarm.” “Morning Dew” marks her first new song following the release of her country album Cowboy Carter in March 2024. This album earned Beyoncé the long-awaited Album of the Year Grammy.

With the release of the song, Beyoncé's fans are eagerly awaiting news about new music and the much-discussed Act III album. This album will complete a three-part project that began with Renaissance and continued with Cowboy Carter. A statement from Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment noted that “Morning Dew” is a special gift for her fans and sends a direct shout-out to the loyal BeyHive community.

To promote the song, a black-and-white lyric video featuring archival footage directed by Cliff Watts, who shot Beyoncé's Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover in 2007, was also released. Fans continue to eagerly anticipate Beyoncé's new music and projects.
