Aybüke Pusat Takes the Producer's Chair for the First Time: Preparing for the Festival Journey of My Happiest Day

Aybüke Pusat is combining her on-screen role with her identity as a producer for the first time in her career. The filming of the movie My Happiest Day, which she produced, has been completed after four weeks of shooting in Istanbul.

Written and directed by Erkan Tunç, the film features Pusat sharing the lead role with Halil Babür. In the story, Pusat plays Nesrin, while Babür portrays Ercan. The narrative follows two people who are married without knowing each other, as they gradually discover not only each other but also the dark truths hidden within the system they live in. Before its theatrical release, the film will be sent to international festivals.

Two strangers living under the same roof

At the center of My Happiest Day are Nesrin and Ercan, who are married under the auspices of a community.

The couple, who start living together as complete strangers, gradually begin to grow closer after days of silence. However, the burdens they carry become visible as their relationship progresses.

While Ercan's world is built on faith and obedience, Nesrin hides a deep pain from the past behind her silence. As the two characters get to know each other, they unknowingly start to realize that they have been living on different sides of the same great lie.

The dark secret hidden by the community is revealed

The real turning point of the story occurs when Nesrin and Ercan begin to question the structure around them.

It becomes clear that behind the relationships that appear to be solidarity and kindness from the outside within the community, a much darker secret is being concealed. As Ercan's love for Nesrin grows, the connection of this secret to his own past becomes more evident.

Nesrin, on the other hand, is in pursuit of another truth beneath the silence she has maintained for a long time.

Thus, the story of two people trying to reach each other transforms from a romantic closeness into a darker narrative centered on faith, obedience, complicity, and reckoning with the past. The truth they reach does not bring the freedom they both expected; instead, it leads them to an irreversible confrontation.

Aybüke Pusat on both sides of the camera for the first time

This film holds a special place in Aybüke Pusat's career.

Until now, Pusat has primarily appeared in front of the camera as an actress, but with My Happiest Day, she is taking on the role of a producer for the first time. By portraying the character Nesrin, she is at the center of both the creative production process and the cast.

Pusat expressed her excitement about playing a role that is quite different from the characters she has portrayed before and also shared her pleasure in sharing the lead role with Halil Babür.

Reha Özcan plays Kerem; Elit Andaç Çam plays Ahsen; Erşan Utku Ölmez plays Mevlüt; Arın Kuşaksızoğlu plays Lokman; and Ebru Aytürk portrays Rukiye. The film also includes child actor Beren Tunç in the cast.

The cinematography of the film is handled by Ahmet Bayer.

The next step for My Happiest Day, which completed its shooting in Istanbul in four weeks, will be the festival process.

My Happiest Day does not only follow the relationship between Nesrin and Ercan. The film also aims to question how faith, obedience, and silence can lead a person to a certain point, and how the purest form of love can coexist with betrayal within the same story.
