A24 has achieved a significant success by acquiring the global rights to 'Club Kid', the most talked-about film at the Cannes Film Festival. Written and directed by Jordan Firstman, this film stands out as a broad yet emotional family comedy set in New York's nightlife. A24 secured this project, surpassing other major independent and studio distributors like Focus Features, Searchlight, Netflix, and Mubi.

'Club Kid' marks Firstman's first experience in a feature film, featuring Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, and newcomer Reggie Absolom in leading roles. The film premiered last week in Cannes' Un Certain Regard section and garnered attention with its positive reviews. This interest prompted buyers to quickly jump into action.

Firstman portrays an event organizer who has lived in parties and dark rooms for a decade, making minimal effort to survive. Unexpectedly, his son, the result of a complicated love triangle from ten years ago, appears at his doorstep, forcing him to confront a life-changing situation.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but following the studios' interest, A24's offer is believed to have reached eight figures. A24 will continue to work on selling the film to buyers outside of international distribution agreements. A24 has existing international distribution agreements with well-known distributors like Leonine in Germany and Austria, and Nordisk Film in Scandinavia.

Oscar-winning Alex Coco and Galen Core are among the producers of 'Club Kid', while Ryan Heller and Michael Bloom from Topic Studio are also contributing to the project. The film was brought to life with funding from Stay Gold. Firstman also serves as an executive producer alongside Ian Stratford, Charles Croft, and Jasmine Daghighian for Topic.
