Disney+ has announced the release date for the second season of A Shop for Killers, one of the biggest Korean productions. The popular assassin thriller series will premiere on July 22. In the new season, Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun) continues her role as the new head of Murthehelp, while her uncle Jeong Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook), who staged his death in the first season to defeat his enemies, will be by her side.

The duo will launch an attack against the mercenary group Babylon, which hunted Ji-an in the first season. Babylon is restructuring by bringing in new assassins from abroad. Two of these new characters will be played by Japanese stars Hyunri (Pachinko) and Masaki Okada (Drive My Car). Hyunri will portray the team leader Q, while Masaki will play the mercenary character J.

Lee Kwon, who directed the first season, which was well-received worldwide, will also direct the new season and co-write the episodes with Ji Ho-jin. A Shop for Killers stood out as Disney+'s most-watched Asia Pacific original in 2024. However, in December, the series Light Shop took over that title. The new season will consist of eight episodes, starting with two episodes on July 22, followed by two episodes every Wednesday, culminating in a finale on August 12.

Disney+ is also launching a series of projects for second seasons of K-drama series this year. Made in Korea, starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, will return with its second season in the second half of the year. Additionally, a continuation of the highly popular superhero series Moving is in production. Disney+ has also greenlit a high-profile Korean remake of FX's hit series The Americans, featuring stars Lee Byung-hun and Han Ji-min as a North Korean spy couple operating secretly in Seoul.
