An escaped prisoner, defying the laws of hospitality, kills the dog of a boy whose grandfather offered him shelter. He hid a sharp piece of metal in a piece of meat. The police arrived and shot the dog. The boy grew into a small, pitiful, absurd man with a side-eye, who froze his genital organs while saving a dog, unable to have children, which his wife frequently complains about. He works as a driver. While transporting a white piano from the collective farm to the club, he veers off the road to avoid hitting sheep, and the car plunges into the river. A white puppy follows him everywhere, and bizarre yet funny events keep happening. But he lives his dreams, writes poetry, and his only friends are dogs - he gets fired, and his wife leaves him. The real trouble begins - war.
