Škorpioni - Spomenar
The Scorpions were a Serbian paramilitary unit that became infamous for their involvement in war crimes during the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s. By utilizing statements from former members of the Scorpions unit and materials recorded by the unit itself during its campaigns, this film illustrates the operations of a typical combat unit organized by the security service to carry out dirty work in the Balkan wars. This includes their treatment of Bosnian Serbs; from denying them water to the gut-wrenching murders of six Bosnian Muslim men, some of whom were minors, in Srebrenica in July 1995. Archival footage featured in this film includes materials from the Humanitarian Law Center and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
