Saniye lives with her husband Süleyman and their children Hikmet, Yılmaz, Mehmet, and Asiye in a small village established on a mountainside in the 1950s. However, the peace of their makeshift homes is deeply shaken when Saniye contracts tuberculosis. She believes so strongly that she will die that she convinces Süleyman to marry a barren woman to take care of their children and him after she's gone. But the treatment process goes well, and Saniye returns home six months later as a healthy woman. This home will now be the nest of two women.
