Detective Catherine Chandler is a sharp, no-nonsense homicide detective. As a teenager, she witnessed her mother's murder at the hands of two gunmen and was saved by someone – or something. Years later, while investigating a murder, Catherine uncovers a clue that leads her to Vincent Keller, who was reportedly killed in 2002. Catherine discovers that Vincent is actually alive and that he was the one who saved her all those years ago. For mysterious reasons that have forced him to live outside of conventional society, Vincent has been in hiding for the past 10 years to protect his secret – when he gets angry, he transforms into a terrifying beast, unable to control his super-strength and heightened senses.
