After a major car accident, a detective wakes up to a life where he doesn't know whether his wife (Laura Allen) or his son (Dylan Minnette) survived. In one life, his wife is by his side, while in the other, it's his son. Michael tries to find the connections between these two realities (like the number 611) to save both of them while trying to continue his life. Along the way, he is assisted by two psychologists during this painful and complex process: the doctor from the life where his wife is alive (B.D. Wong) and the doctor from the life where his son is alive (Cherry Jones).
