Although he has never set foot in a courtroom, Navy lawyer Daniel Kaffe has won over 60 cases and is known for his easygoing personality. His troubles begin when he takes on a case involving the killing of a soldier at the Cuban border. Kaffe, who usually settles cases without ever going to court, is forced to take the case to trial when the soldiers deny committing murder and claim they were just following orders, especially after another Navy lawyer, JoAnne Galloway, gets involved.
