He is driven to the casino to remove the ransom money from the safe - but stupidly tries to make his escape. Samantha is shocked to learn of his involvement in the case but allows her old partner to carry on with his undercover operation to the point of handing over the money - not realising Phil's philandering ways have made him more than one new enemy.
