Bára and Venca are getting married, but an unexpected obstacle stands in their way. How could this have happened? Can such a surprising situation be resolved quickly? Will Svatava finally marry them? Bára's uncle Adolf sees it rather negatively - and Johana, the eldest daughter of the parish priest Svatava and the carpenter Pepa, is not thrilled about it either.
