Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City - Release Date, Confirmed Cards, & Illumineer’s Trove Details
Screen Rant
Although the last few sets have had quite a bit of difficulty with stock and pricing, Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City still has many fans excited as the trading card game brings the popular characters of Coco to the table. The 14th set is perhaps the beginning of the next story arc for the Illumineers and is bringing things to a much more vibrant and metropolitan setting, rather than the nature-focused locations of the past.
The previous set, Lorcana: Attack of the Vine! wrapped up the Illumineer's investigation into the mysterious and magical plant that was absorbing ink and using it to grow unique "Vineling" glimmers. Now, with Hyperia City, players are finally leaving the wilds of jungles, mountains, and deserts, and entering the bustling streets of Hyperia. Of course, despite the musical cheer that the initial artwork displays, hidden dangers are sure to be discovered.
As is always the case for Disney Lorcana sets, there are two release dates for Hyperia City. The prerelease will take place on October 16, 2026, at smaller, local game stores and Disney Parks locations. Then, a week later, October 23 will signal the full mass market release of the set everywhere Lorcana products are sold.
Although Disney Lorcana: Attack of the Vine! sets launched to event cancellations and chaos at prerelease, there is hope that this will be prevented with Hyperia City as the growing demand for Lorcana sets leads to increased planning and awareness.
Currently, there are only three cards officially revealed for Hyperia City, all coming from the set's headlining Pixar franchise, Coco. Due to the musical nature of the movie and the way it is thematically applied to these revealed cards, it is expected that there will be an influx of Song action cards added to Lorcana with this set. This hasn't been officially confirmed, but looking at the descriptions of each of the three cards makes it fairly clear.
Both Miguel and Héctor have abilities specifically focused on singing. For Miguel, if there is a song card in your discard, Miguel's card gets one additional lore and gains the Singer 3 description. Meanwhile, Héctor is a Singer 2. The "Un Poco Loco" Song card is a Sing Together 3 and will allow you to put two characters into your hand as long as one of them is a cost 3 or less.
Hyperia City is expected to follow regular Lorcana formats with its product lineup. This will include the Booster Packs with 12 cards per pack, Booster Boxes which will likely hold 24 booster packs, giving a grand total of 288 cards, and an Illumineer's Trove with plenty of goodies and a collectible storage box.
In the set Wilds Unknown, Disney Lorcana introduced the idea of a Prerelease Box that is a special product only for prerelease events and includes unique items such as a poster, dice, promo cards, and booster packs. This continues with Hyperia City, although the exact contents of the Prerelease Box are still unknown. Possibly there will be a new 2-Player Starter Deck as well, as there was none released for the previous Attack of the Vine! set.
There is also an image that has been shown of a special Hyperia City playmat which uses artwork of "Miguel Rivera — Promising Musician." Some Lorcana products, including some playmats, are only available at Disney Parks locations or are used as Championship rewards, so it is unclear at this time if Miguel's playmat will be widely available.
Disney Lorcana has released a couple of special standalone board game experiences for the game, and a new one will launch just a couple of weeks prior to Hyperia City, on October 2, 2026. Technically listed as being a part of the Attack of the Vine! collection, Lorcana Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue will feature the characters from Winnie the Pooh as an adventuring party.
